Hippie Fair

The official name is Feira de Artesanato de Ipanema (Handcrafts & Art Fair of Ipanema), but everybody still uses the original name, a reminiscence of the 70´s.

Rio's "Hippie Fair" is located at General Osorio Square in Ipanema and happens only on Sundays. It started in the '70s as an informal showplace for art works, Brazilian musical instruments, typical foods and handicrafts of the long-haired generation. Meanwhile, it has grown into a bustling mart where, besides garments, one can buy leather and home decoration items.
