City of Samba

Open for the public between noon and 8pm, visitors can marvel at the preparation of floats and costumes. Every Thursday night, visitors can watch a mini Carnaval parade, live show with dancers, rhythm group and "baianas".

Located on Avenida Rodrigues Alves, the site has an area of 770,394.6 sq. ft over three floors, with individual space for all main Samba Schools. The space will also be available for shows, exhibitions and special events. Preparations are at full steam for one of the world's greatest events! Carnaval may seem like three days of parades and celebration for most, but at the Sambodrome (the parade stadium designed by famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer) it is actually a highly competitive event among escolas de sambas (Samba schools).

The site is closed during some months.
