Full Day Joinville Tour

The German characteristics of Joinville can be traced to the mid-1800s when a deal with merchants in Hamburg brought German, Swiss and Norwegian settlers to the area. They established themselves by taking out homesteads in the virgin forest. The land on which Joinville was settled was given by Emperor Dom Pedro as dowry to his sister when she married the Prince of Joinville.

During an orientation drive through Joinville, you will note Joinville's neat, clean streets lined by framework houses. A visit will be made to the National Museum of immigration and Colonization, built in 1870 in a modest palace which it was the residence of the Prince of Joinville. Take a stroll around the site, wander through the mansion and visit the farm buidings.
