Destinations   Goiania

Capital of the state of Goiás until 1937, this city that remains untouched by modern life has been appointed by UNESCO a World Heritage site. A colonial city with good examples of colonial architecture and cobblestone streets, is for Brazilians the city where Cora Coralina (1889-1985) lived. Her simple non-assuming verses are the quintessence of life that touch one's heart. Her house, today a museum, is one of the first buildings of the city (18th century).

Climate
The weather is tropical, hot most of the year, varying from humid to semi dry, with up to five months of drought. The two well-defined seasons are divided into drought in the winter and humid in the summer.

How to get there
By Air: the capital of the State of Goiás, Goiânia, is 140 km away. It has an airport with flights to the country's main cities. There are buses leaving from the airport to the City of Goiás.

By Road: the main highways that have access to the city are:

- From Goiania: GO-070
- From Brasília: Take the BR-060 to Anápolis, cross the city towards Nerópólis and Inhumas; when you reach the GO-070 head towards Itauçu, Itaberaí and the City of Goias.
